Masking & Blackout Fabrics for Film & TV

Commando Cloth (aka duvetyn on the West Coast) is ubiquitous in the film, TV and video industry. It's mostly used to block light from lighting fixtures, control unwanted ambient light and hide objects. Our most opaque weight 16 oz. commando cloth comes in a variety of widths, including 54", 60", 78", and 118". Key qualities are matte finish, light absorbing, flame retardant, and relatively inexpensive. If you're shooting a scene, then you've got a roll of duvetyn on hand.

For those on a tight budget, duvetyn is also offered in 12 oz. or 8 oz. weights when total opacity is not the primary requirement. We have duvetyn colors as well. See below for all varieties and call 800-223-1624 if you have any questions.
