FAQs
Are your curtains fire-retardant?
Most of our fabrics are flame retardant and certified to meet fire code regulations in various states, countries, and regions throughout the world. You can view the certifications on each fabric's product page. Fabrics designated as "IFR" (inherently flame retardant) retain that property throughout the life of the fabric, even after numerous washings, as long as the fabric is kept clean. Our "FR" products are sprayed with a fire retardant solution to also meet fire code regulations.
Our "NFR" non-fire-retardant fabrics, such as some of our muslins, are typically used for painted backdrops. Flame retardant can be added to the paint before it's applied or to the backdrop after it's painted, so that the finished product can meet your local fire code regulations as well. You can purchase these flame retardants on our site as well.
Do your fabrics tend to “hourglass”?
The “hourglass” effect or puckering tends to occur with certain types of stage curtains, such as scrims, bobbinettes, vinyl, projection screens, and muslin backdrops when they hang for extended periods. Rose Brand offers a variety of options to help limit the “hourglass” effect. The sides of the curtain can be guided or tensioned to hold straight. There are many ways to tension your curtain, including cable guides, grommets and ties, or a cable hem. The Rose Brand stretcher frame is also a good option for minimizing hourglass distortion in your theater curtain.
What fullness should I look for in a stage curtain?
Typically, draperies with greater fullness appear more luxurious, offer improved acoustic performance, and are more opaque. The amount of fullness, pleating (or gathering), will vary with the design style and the width of the fabric
Do you need a curtain track or curtain lift system as well?
We manufacture our own ADC brand of curtain tracks and automation systems, and are one of the major innovators in the industry. We also represent a full line of Triple E Track. If you're ready to get a quote on a custom curtain and or track system, you can call to talk to an expert at 1-800-223-1624.
