The Beacon Theatre

Rose Brand was part of the team working on the extensive renovation of the iconic Beacon Theatre in New York.

The iconic Beacon Theatre in New York recently re-opened after a comprehensive $15 million, seven month restoration. Working with the team at MSG Entertainment, Beyer, Binder & Belle Architects and Lehr Construction, Rose Brand managed all aspects of the soft goods for the project. Over the course of a year, Rose Brand worked with the architects and owners from the design phase through the installation of hardware, curtain track and curtains. Rigging components for all the new line sets in the house were also provided by Rose Brand. The custom creations that replaced the historic originals were sewn at Rose Brand's shop and included the House Swags, Rotunda Drape, Main Drape, Grand Valance, Tormentors, dressing room curtains, artist green room curtains, chandelier chain covers, spear covers and last but not least, fire hose decorative covers.

Known for its flawless acoustics, the Beacon Theatre was designed by Chicago architect Walter Ahlschlager in the Art Deco Style. It opened in 1929 as a venue for vaudeville acts, musical productions, drama, opera and movies. Designated a National Historic Landmark in 1979, the renovated theatre is once again the bejeweled "older sister" to Radio City Music Hall. The Beacon Theatre joined MSG Entertainment's family of world class venues in November of 2006.
