Darknet projection fabrics offer designers a new tool to help create compelling projected effects. Black fabrics have long provided the theatrical "invisibility" relied upon by designers and technicians, but dark surfaces are notoriously difficult to project on. Our new "Darknet" fabrics have been specially treated to provide a high gain, high resolution projection surface. Screen Scrim netting turns a black scrim into a high gain projection surface while still providing a magical "scrim-through effect." Because of the brighter reflectivity, designers can sustain a front projection image on the scrim even while bleeding through to a well-lit, upstage scene. Screen Scrim reads as a dark grey in comparison to traditional black scrim.
Image™ Net
The bobbinette weave makes for an imperceptible yet highly reflective projection surface. The larger open cells allow for the net to be viewed off axis from the audience without revealing itself. Image Net fabric also offers superior "blowthrough" characteristics to reduce billowing in air currents. Great for stadium use.
